our story
Meet Nate and Becky!
Bleum Flower Farm has been my (Becky’s) dream for many years now. We patiently waited and saved up for what seemed like forever to buy our own property, and when we did, it ended up not being the giant farm property we envisioned. Even though it is quite small, I’ve still accepted the challenge of using the limited space to use high intensive planting practices to produce the maximum amount of crops. You’d be surprised how many flowers we can pump out on less than 1/10th of an acre!
Nate is the muscle behind all of Bleum’s heavy duty work, i.e., digging, building, chopping down trees, lifting, cutting, you name it. Becky does all of the growing from seed, planning, marketing, cultivating, harvesting, selling, etc. She also does the heavy duty work when Nate’s not around :)
Bleum derives from “bleu” in French which means, you guessed it, blue. On a personal and religious level, the color blue has a lot of deep meanings in my life, so bringing it to my business holds a lot of value. Blue also signifies beauty, peace, tranquility, royalty, and hope. Did you know blue is also the rarest color in nature? There aren’t a lot of blue flowers around!
